Relaxing and Productive Weekend

Can't believe how much work the yard is and can't believe how much work we actually got completed over the past few weeks.

The yard is sure beginning to come to life again. How rewarding it is to sit outside and enjoy the greenery, watch beautiful flowers bloom, listen to birds chirping and hens pecking away at the ground. Love to listen and watch the boys playing outside, especially when they are not arguing. Beautiful butterflies delicately fluttering about while lizards scurry from rock to rock.

I have pondered why it is that I enjoy spring so... to me it signifies renewal and life, pruning away the dead so that the new can flourish.

This year we removed our raised bed garden and are row gardening with both of the beds. We installed a drip irrigation system in hopes of conserving water. We planted everything from A to Z and are particularly excited about the Jalapenos.

We enjoyed a lot of company during the week/weekend. Retired Pastor Larry Rhodes came by Sunday morning for Biscuits and Gravy and later that afternoon visited with Dena Walker and Charlene Cherry.

The boys and Kenny are off to Albuquerque for a week of summer camp at Explora while I hang back and take care of the chores and finish planting.
